Service of Remembering 31 October 2018 – Taibach Church

Our annual Circuit Service of Remembering will be held on Wednesday 31st October at 7.00 pm at Taibach Wesley Methodist Church. This service will include the reading out of the names of those who have died during the past year (1st October 2017 – 30th September 2018) and whose funerals have been conducted by a member of the Neath Port Talbot Methodist Circuit, or who have been associated in some way with our churches. There will also be the opportunity to remember and give thanks to God for others who have died and whose memory we treasure and honour.

All are welcome to join us for this special service of thanksgiving and remembrance.

Welcome service for Reverend Rosemary Davies

The NPT Circuit held a welcoming service at Neath Methodist Church on the afternoon of Saturday 1st September 2018 for our new Superintendent Presbyter Reverend Rosemary Davies. The service was lead by our Synod Chair Reverend Dr Stephen Wigley with the support of our Lay worker and most members of our Circuit leadership team.

Rosemary addressed the congregation which was made up of representatives from all of our nine churches and visitors.

After the service everyone shared a faith tea. Many thanks to the Neath team who made this all possible.

We all look forward to the future supporting Rosemary and working with our new team.

Circuit farewell service 22 July 2018

The circuit farewell service was held at 6:00 pm on Sunday 22 July 2018 at Sandfields Methodist Church.

The service was well attended with the Church full. Wendy Watts was also presented with a certificate to mark 25 years as a Local preacher.

We all had the opportunity of saying goodbye to our Superintendent Minister Christ Gray, Deacon Vivian Gray who are retiring to North Wales and Minister Kofi Amissah who has been stationed to the Cardiff Circuit.

During the service they offered emotional speeches and were presented with gifts as gratitude for all their hard work which was followed by a Faith supper.

God bless you all for your support over the last 7 years Viv and Chris and enjoy your well deserved retirement. God bless to you Kofi and your family with your new stationing.

Ghanaian night held at Taibach Church

Revd. Kofi Amissah arranged a “Ghanaian night” recently at Taibach Church. Many of his Christian country folk based in London entertained us with a typical African service which is very different to a traditional Methodist service here in Wales.

The service was very colourful, and loud with constant dancing and chanting. Everyone afterwards was treated to traditional Ghanaian food and drink.

Many thanks to the London based Ghanaian Church for a enjoyable evening.

Taibach celebrate 125 years of Christian worship

On Sunday 6th May 2018 Taibach Church celebrated 125 years of worship at their church at Incline Row, Taibach. The service was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of NPTCBC, Taibach church members and members of sister Methodist churches throughout NPT Methodist circuit.

Taibach kindly laid on refreshments prior to the service commencing.

We thank God for Taibach and its Christian witness over the last 125 years and look forward to their next 125 years

Rafiki Appeal

On 2nd October 2017, 10 laptop computers were presented to the Methodist
Rafiki Satellite Village in Ghana. The laptop computers were bought with
donations mainly form the churches and individuals of the Neath Port
Talbot Methodist Circuit. Individual members of the Ghanaian Methodist
Fellowship (GMF) across the United Kingdom and other Methodist
congregations, especially in London, also made substantial donations.
The presentation follows an earlier one of 4 laptop computers donated
last year, to support Rafiki to stock its ICT centre. On behalf of the
Neath Port Talbot Methodist Circuit and other donors, the Very Rev.
Emmanuel Aggrey-Ogoe presented the laptop computers to the Rt. Rev. Dr.
Kweku Boabeng-Odoom (Methodist Bishop of Winneba), who in turn handed
them over to the Very Rev. Isaac Nana Abekah (Director of Rafiki). We
pray and hope the ICT centre now at full capacity, will benefit both
children/student and staff of Rafiki. God bless you all who donated to
this appeal.
