Welcome
A place to find friendship, hope and purpose. The mission of Neath Methodist Church is to worship our living, loving, Father, Son and Holy Sprit, and to live out our faith in witness and service to our community and to the world.
A warm welcome awaits in our chapel to everyone if they would like to join us for worship or any other regular activities.
History
Neath Methodist Church is situated at Stockham’s Corner, at the southern end of Neath. It is known locally as Windsor Square or “Penny-brick Church”, because when it was built, local people each donated a penny towards a brick to build it.
The Methodist churches in Aberdulais, Briton Ferry and London Road merged with Windsor Square to form the present church. Our aim is to be a Christian community, in the community, for the community.
In addition to the Sunday worship (at 10.30 am), there are also a number of week-time activities.
Prayer and Praise group alternates with the Wesley Guild on a Tuesday at 6:30 pm. A Bible Study group is held in the home of a church member every month [see further details on weekly events] If you wish to hire our premises, please contact our Bookings Secretary, Mrs Barbara Southard Tele: 01639 636280.
The Llansawel Art Group meet every Monday at 7:00 p m.
The church is ecumenically minded, being active in Churches Together in Neath and is very involved in the Christian Aid charity collections.
We support Action for Children with similar collections, and through a group which collects by singing carols at Tesco at Christmas. Action for Children hold frequent staff training meetings at the Church.
